The Appeal
The late 1940s brought a swathe of optimism across the world of motoring, and Detroit hit a new golden age. Buick soon produced this handsome, dramatic car. Powered by a whopping great 'Fireball' straight-eight married to the much-prized Dynaflow automatic transmission, it was the luxuriant flagship of Buick's brave new product range, and has become a highly prized mid-century classic in the USA - but here across the pond, it's as rare as hen's teeth!
This black example was imported from California to the UK in 2017 and has been in the current owner's care ever since. It has been serviced annually and kept in dry storage, receiving a full bodywork restoration and respray in 2024. Recognised with a main feature in Classic American Magazine in September 2023, it's the sort of car that will get any Americana enthusiast's attention. image.png1.52 MB

✓ We want a smooth transaction just as much as you do and as such we run all UK-registered cars and motorbikes for sale on Car & Classic through an online HPI check to verify that they show no insurance database markers for damage or theft, and have no finance owing, allowing you to bid with confidence.
✓ We also check whether vehicles are recorded as being written off as part of an insurance total loss claim at the time an advert is placed on Car & Classic and we helpfully provide write-off category labels (Cat C/D/S/N) for your assistance. However, the presence or absence of a label does not guarantee the vehicle’s status and it is always worthwhile carrying out your own full vehicle history check before making an offer on a vehicle.
