KVG 384G - 1969 Austin Cambridge De-lux (A60) Manual, 32k miles
This very original 1969 Austin Cambridge is a pleasure to have owned over the last 5 years and now I'm ready to let someone else enjoy this car. Learn the basics of driving again - floor mounted manual, no power steering and only front seat belts! Over 270, 000 were built from 1961 until production ended in 1969, meaning that this is one of the last produced.
According to howmanyleft (Q4 2021), 384 of this variant remain on the road. You may already be familiar with the A60 other models, including Riley, MG, Wolseley and Morris.
Included with the sale is the car's detailed history; a Mr F Woodcock, from Norwich, purchased the car on the 24th April 1969- Buff log book, and many MOT’s are also within this folder. I've also filled all history, and documented some of the work I've completed in folders, along with collecting memorabilia suitable for the car.
Currently showing 32, 000 miles. I'm fairly certain this is accurate, given the older MOTs, but its condition speaks for itself. She is in great original condition - The paintwork is bright and has benefited from a coat of polish every now and then. The interior again is in great original condition - the leather is subtle and not cracked - there is a small tear in the driver's upright, repairable if worried but I've not been. Carpets original, seats original - If you are looking for an original, story telling car, this one's for you!
(* Please note, there are a few scraps on the roof, where previously garaged, something has been put on top, and a scrape down the passenger wing, im told by the then owners daughters bike! You may also notice the driver's side front wing has had a repair, again, I'm told because the first owner wanted to keep it original and not replace the front wings to fiberglass). Its never bothered me as i wanted to keep her as original as when i got her!
I have tried to keep her as original as possible, having survived all these years so well. I've replaced what's needed. Honestly, no expense has been spared with her - Parts have been purchased mainly from NTG Farina - If you know this company you will be aware they are Farina specialists).
Work completed/ Parts replaced;
• Full detail - professionally cleaned and detailed appropriately.
• Full service, oils and filters.
• Electronic points - Accuspark conversation - remains on Positive earth.
• Thermostat housing - previous corroded.
Upon purchasing the car, a local garage completed a number of jobs, costing over £1, 100;
• Complete stainless steel exhaust
• Shackle Bushes
• Front suspension bush kit
• Carburettor - needle and Jet assembly/
• Shock absorber bushes
• Complete Wax-oiled underneath protection
• Headlamp seal kits
I have probably forgotten a few other parts that have been replaced, but you get the jist - I've taken care of this car, and would like the new owner to as well.
On the road:
She doesn’t miss a beat! If you've driven one before, you know how they drive. They roll along happily, 50mph is the best! As I'm cutting back on my own cars, I really would like this to go to a good home, who will treasure it as much as I have. I have a few spares to go with the car also.
MOT/ Tax exempt
