Description

Owned by the same family since the mid 1980’s, built by John Pearson in the late 70’s early 80’s using genuine Jaguar parts, building a new chassis and body.
The engine is a 1956 3. 4 litre wide angle dry sump. The engine number (E4004-9) stamped onto the block, genuine works wide angle head, serial number A47. Gearbox genuine D-Type, complete with lock-out mechanism etc, stamped GBD63 on the top cover. Lucas starter motor genuine D-Type, correct prop-shaft heavy duty large-yoke type. All front suspension appears to be original material, including telescopic dampers all carrying serial numbers and markings. The rear axle correct D-Type markings “55 20” which dates the axle to 1955. The brakes correct for “works” Long nose car, original Works quick change two pad calipers. Original Sand Cast Weber 45DC03 carburettors on long ram pipes. 45 gallon Marston bag tank in the fuel cell. Cockpit is essentially correct for works car. The aluminium bodyshell produced by RS Panels to a very authentic standard and now 40 years on having a lovely patina.
