The DAX Kamala was both a super car and an extraordinary piece of motoring history. At the time of production, it reached track speeds reportedly previously unobtainable by any British manufactured vehicle, covering 0-60 in around 3. 9 seconds with a top speed of 160mph whilst maintaining exceptional cornering. Reportedly it was the fastest ever British made road car. Its closest competitor was the Ferrari F50 but it was far from superior to the DAX on corners.
V21PPYis fitted with a 340bhp Sierra Cosworth Turbo Red Top (1991) mid mounted engine completely rebuilt and modified to stage 3, 340bhp Ford specification by Competition Performance (Cosworth Specialists) mated with a Ford MTX gearbox, she will accelerate from 0-60 in around 3. 5 seconds.
Such figures brought it great acclaim from Jeremy Clarkson and the media
Jeremy Clarkson wrote “I was very taken with the DAX Kamala, its looks like the sort of machine that commander Straker would use for moving around on the moon, but it goes like the sort of thing that would have got to him to the moon in the first place… I swear it has the guts of a Ferrari.
It has glorious togetherness in the corners. A lot of kit cars feel like they are held together with spit and Kleenex, but this was rock solid without a creak or a groan”.
Peter Coxhead of Kit Car Magazine wrote “Not only do I think that this is the quickest road car I have ever been in but it also has the ability to maintain fast average speeds with exceptional handling and phenomenal grip, cornering without roll. It can be whipped around corners at what seemed incredible speeds, pulling G which would be familiar to fighter pilots.

Serviced by Barum Engineering Cosworth specialists last September. Driven approx 450 miles since then. Here's a video they did - details above
