NOW SOLD ! First year of the swinging arm, with the rare tank with the legs on the bottom. The frame etc has been blasted and powder coated. The petrol tank has been acid dipped and painted and sealed with POR15 before painting. New rims and spokes, bearings and tyres. The speedo has been refurbished. The correct original seat has been refurbished by R K Leighton. Engine has been overhauled with new cylinder liners re-bored back to standard bore, new valve guides, springs etc. Refurbished dynamo and serviced mag. New wiring loom with QD plug to 6 1/ 2 inch headlight. American high bars. New horn and electronic regulator in original Lucas shell. Forks rebuilt, new stanchions with new head stock bearings. New exhaust. Timing side oil seal conversion. New oil pump, chains and cables. I have gone right through this bike and it starts and runs well, with everything working. Bought as a project time spent sourcing all the right bits and rebuilt over the last few years.
This is a really nice example of a usable rare classic. Matching frame and engine number with a non-transferable registration. A few minor negative points the horn on the wrong side, the carb is a slightly later version and it is not a competition mag but they came with the bike and work, so I haven’t changed them. This is my second pre unit TR5 and by far the better of the 2. Starts from cold 1st or 2nd kick Runs lovely with decent brakes and drop dead looks.
