WITHOUT a shadow of a doubt, this 1967 Rover 2000 automatic is in truly splendid condition in every respect. A lengthy history traces the car's past allowing us to discover just how much love has been lavished on this Series 1. Finished in the rare Rover colour of Burnt Grey (sort of grey-brown) with contrasting Toledo Red leather, she is an absolute delight. And here is the added bonus. She comes with power steering too!
Used sparingly, she has covered just 52, 000 miles and has a current MoT until May of next year. She is an unrestored car and is in excellent order in all the usual places where the P6 can be problematic. A few years ago, she was treated to a 3k re-spray and thus her paint work is in fantastic condition. However she retains originality in so many ways. New old stock front wings were fitted at the time of painting but, apart from that, the panel fit is so good everywhere and the important body structure is free of any repairs or attempted repairs. Areas such as the D posts, under the rear seat and the boot floor are all untouched. The interior is original and in superb order. It has never had a radio fitted.
She drives beautifully and presents herself so incredibly well. These Series 1 P6s are highly sought after these days with most owners and potential owners preferring them to the later Series 2s. An opportunity not to be missed.
My classic cars are motoring antiques. Please do not confuse them with your one-year-old Range Rover. This car, for example, is 55-years-old and so will have quirks and faults in there somewhere. These are not always apparent when buying and selling classics which is what I do. I do not restore them, nor do I pretend that they are concours cars. I am not a garage, nor am I a showroom. I do not subject them to rigorous tests and inspections. They deserve to be taken on as "family pets" and cared for through thick and then. They don't make them any more and demand now out-strips supply. The majority of these ancient motors will need degrees of restoration or re-commissioning. They are not intended to be everyday cars; they are aimed at the enthusiast, the classic car lover and the diy motor mechanic and body man. They are hobby cars; there to be tinkered with and enjoyed.
