The Berlina was the top model of Alfa Romeo built on the 105 platform, which it shares with among others the Giulia, however here equipped with 1. 8 or 2. 0 engines. The longer wheel base provided adequate space for the whole family when travelling fast and comfortably on the Autostrada in typically Italian elegance and style. The body is more discreet than the distinct forms of the Giulia – in our opinion Bertone did a great job when designing the Berlina, which oozes of style and class.
This example has been driving in Denmark for many years and owned by knowledgeable Alfa enthusiasts, the car is well known in the community. The mechanics are well functioning among others due to the 2 litre engine fitted to the car as well as electronic ignition and fuel pump. The transmission works very nicely with fine synchromesh when down shifting. The undercarriage is renovated with new coils, bushings and dampers and the car is slightly lowered in order to improve handling. A fresh wheel alignment is also done and the car handles and drives as well as you would expect from a fully sorted Alfa Romeo. Period correct Cromodora wheels is a nice feature to the car. The body and paint is in good state, however, with some patina the usual places. A nice detail is the well hidden quality stereo system, which can be operated by your mobile device.
This is a very good everyday classic with a delicious sound and superb Alfa driving characteristics, and will prove a good choice if you wish a reliable, fast and comfortable classic, which can be used for many purposes.
