BACKGROUND
The car that they tried to ban!
The Lotus Carlton (also called Vauxhall Lotus Carlton, Lotus Omega and Opel Lotus Omega) is a Vauxhall Carlton/ Opel Omega A saloon upgraded by Lotus in order to be able to reach speeds up to 285 km/ h (177 mph) with acceleration to equal contemporary sports cars. The exterior changes were minimal with the addition of a rear spoiler, cooling vents on the bonnet, Lotus badges on the front wings and boot lid, a body kit and considerably wider wheel arches distinguishing it from a standard Carlton/ Omega. The car was only sold in one colour, a shade of green called Imperial Green (similar to British Racing Green). Text from Wikipedia.
HISTORY
This vehicle was imported from Germany to Finland by a garage called “Veskun Autotalo Siilinjärvi”, the then registration number was PA-V400.
The current owner purchased the vehicle on 02. 11. 2007, he is a keen Opel enthusiast.
EXTERIOR
This is one great looking vehicle!
From the history that we have it is believed to be original paint, apart from painting of the front & rear bumpers, and passenger side-skirt.
There is a very small, almost imperceptible dent in the left front fender, also some small stone chips on the hood.
Rear rims widened in Germany to 12?.
No rust anywhere!
INTERIOR
Such a luxurious place to be, with that added feel of sportiness.
The interior is in great original condition, as you will see in the photos.
Everything works as it should.
MECHANICS
I have personally driven this car and it pulls like a train, such an awesome experience.
The turbos have been updated and the engine has been adjusted to suit, power approx. 345 kW.
ZF 6-speed gearbox.
AP-Brakes
Standard suspension.
The exhaust pipe from the catalysts to the back was made again from stainless steel, exhaust tone was kept original.
UNDERNEATH
The chassis is original, no rust or repairs.
Only used in summer months, and always stored in a dry and warm place.
