1966 Morris 1000 in very good all-round condition, running and driving spot on and comes with a huge file full of history with a collection of invoices showing investment of over £20, 000 in recent years, including a huge £7500 bill from highly respected Moggy specialist “Charles Ware Morris Minor Centre” in Bath, no scrimping or corner cutting with this one, it’s been very well looked after.
It’s really smart looker, with recent new mohair soft top and a well-appointed interior that benefits from upgraded front seats, with belts front and rear and a smart wooden steering wheel. It also has the brake servo conversion for easier firmer braking, alternator upgrade from the old dynamo and a 12v charging port discreetly fitted and shiny stainless steel door cills, a much more modern driving experience. Don’t wait for Spring, the heater works fine, get your woolly hat on and go and enjoy those fresh crisp sunny days of winter.

It starts very easily and runs well, pulling strongly through all the gears, it stops very well (see the video) and is steady at speed with no wandering or vagueness. No smoke when pushed hard and no signs of any worrying leaks or drips after a run, we have checked the fluids for correct level and contamination and there's no breathing from the oil cap when running, the engine bay is incredibly tidy, displaying many new parts and a recent wiring loom.
Both doors, boot lid and bonnet open, click shut and lock, the windows wind down, the quarter light vents twist, the side lights, head lights and horn, wiper, washers, heater fan works.
The paintwork is very good, no drips, runs or noticeable scratches, odd imperfection will be found on very close inspection. Bright work is all good, not new and slightly aged but all fine, spare wheel and jack in the boot. The interior is very smart, properly folding front seats that tilt well out of the way to allow rear access, very tidy original dash, as already started the hood is very recent, no fading or cracks in the window. Underside and boot floor are all solid, see pics.
History files contains many years of service and repair invoices, some for large amounts of work, there’s old MOTS, a handbook, old adverts, old pictures, it’s quite a file full. Looking through the file you will find invoices for a new engine, gearbox refurb, new clutch and many, many more major expenditures.
The purist will complain the upgrades detract from the history, the sensible will appreciate the improvements, as with many Minor convertibles it’s a later conversion and is correctly listed as a convertible on the V5 logbook.
There are loads of Moggy’s to pick from, unlikely you’ll find with this much proven history, at this spec and this price. Buy one where someone else has spent all the money and done all the hard work, buy one to enjoy today.
