We are pleased to offer this immaculate and very exciting V8-engined MG B Roadster.
This is the car that MG should have built but never did, despite the efforts of people such as Ken Costello who ably demonstrated the potential of such a package.
The basis of this car is a 1978 Roadster which has been completely rebuilt into the superb car you see here. The bodywork has been restored to a very high standard and the shut lines are all good.
The Tahiti Blue paintwork is in excellent condition and is offset by black leather seats and a black mohair hood – all in similarly superb condition.
The engine is a 4. 6 litre Rover unit coupled to a LT77 five-speed gearbox. The exhaust note is very exciting thanks to stainless steel headers and tailpipe.
Chassis wise the car benefits from the fitment of Hawk Cars/ Hoyle Engineering front suspension coil-over units. Minilite type wheels are fitted (including the spare) and the Toyo tyres appear to be new.
The indicated mileage of 2, 045 is commensurate with the superb condition of the car and the MoT history corroborates this. The MG is MoT’d until August.
The underside of the car is in superb order and the photos of the engine bay speak for themselves.
The stance of the car is absolutely right, something that not all conversions achieve.
The boot is fully carpeted as is the spare wheel cover. There is a jack and wheel brace with the car.
On the road the MG drives well and is very rapid, yet docile when required. The chassis feels very taught and the brakes pull the car up well.
This is a very fine example of a V8 conversion and offers exciting performance combined with classic lines of a B Roadster.
