Registered 1946 but is a pre-war model with engine cooling flaps rather than the side grills on the sides of the bonnet. Had a DS 1941cc engine fitted before coming to the UK with SU carburettor and new fuel lines. Now 12 volt and has electric (adjustable) power steering and a heater fitted (currently bypassed for summer). Has a four (4) speed synchromesh gearbox that is sweet with an easy clutch that has no slip.
New starter motor and had service and MOT in July 2023 with no advisories.
Has had a total body restoration sometime in the late 1990's and is solid underneath and virtually no rust visible.
The car was purchased through a Traction specialist in Chipping Norton. This car is not concours and has been used quite a bit since purchased in July 2020. Regularly serviced and MOT'd and runs like a dream.
Capable of cruising at 70 mph plus and has front disc brakes fitted. As with any older car, the brakes are not up to todays standards, but easily passed the MOT.
I fitted a hand pump to pull the fuel through from the tank to preserve the starter motor, and now starts easily using the choke. Doesn't consume oil or water and certainly drives in a straight line with the hands off the wheel.
Obviously LHD and currently does not have any seat belts fitted (could be done as many cars now have them). Tried to keep inside all original, but has a water temperature gauge fitted and an electric fan should the car need it in warm and if stationery for a protracted time.
Unique colour scheme that attracts enormous attention, with the black wings and greeny blue bonnet and general body, finished off with the yellow wheels, the car always draws a crowd.
Has been kept in a de-humidified warm garage since I owned her and has a few areas where the paint has lifted away from the bodywork causing an open crack (not worsened since purchase and appears to be more of a paint adherence issue rather than rot).
Looked at the underneath at the last MOT, and there is a small dent on the inside of one sill (not visible from outside) and the floor and sills were solid.
The car was brought over from France in January 2020 by the Chipping Norton Specialist after the previous owner, who had the car in his possession for several decades, became too infirm to continue driving the car on a daily basis. Before I purchased the car, the specialist had removed the engine, sorted out a couple of oil leaks and replaced it with all new gaskets and consumables before I acquired it.
