Drive away today in a lovely usable classic!
MOT & Tax Exempt!
A 1977 MG Midget that I purchased when I had a classic car itch to scratch about 16 months ago. When it became mine it was in need of a fair amount of welding (pictures shown) which has all been done professionally (also pictured) and then fully professionally undersealed to provide some much needed protection to this little old car.
With a roof in brilliant condition that folds away nicely and a Cherry Bomb exhaust it's awesome fun to drive on a sunny day with the roof down. And with the changeable weather in the country its just as good with the roof up in the rain! Turns heads everywhere it goes as you just don't see them on the road (and its Loud!).
mechanically it's (almost) absolutely spot on!
The furthest forward carb has a tendency to overflow fuel. Which im sure is down to an old "Unleaded to Leaded" filter which was fitted by one of the previous owners. I know they were a con and do nothing so I suspect that is the cause, probably clogging up the carb. However a little blip of the throttle sorts it out and has never caused me any trouble. Carbs have been cleaned out in the last few weeks as the Midget was my daily temporarily.
Comes with 2 brand new tyres (not fitted), An Electric Screen Wash motor kit (not fitted) Few servicing parts such as oil and a rocker cover gasket, A Full Car Cover that cost me a few hundred £ and A full spare rostyle wheel.
Aesthetically it needs some attention which is reflected in the price. Front left wing needs filling and re-spraying or replacing. Same goes for the bonnet and needs some new carpets inside. None of this takes away from the driveablity of the car and in my personal opinion adds a nice patina. I do have a bag of filler and paints for DIY bodywork which will come with the car, I've just never got round to it myself.
Reason for sale is multifaceted, but in effect I've scratched my classic car itch for now, I've tinkered, I've fixed, I've enjoyed. Now it's time to send it on to a new loving home.
