As an iconic sports car of the World Series by Renault since their creation in 2005, the Megane Trophy has profoundly evolved in 2009, particularly from an aesthetic point of view, inspired at the time by the new Megane Coupe's design. Beneath its bodywork in composite materials with original doors opening into scissors and particularly meticulous aerodynamics, it incorporates all mechanical elements of the previous car: tubular chassis homologated sort-prototype FIA, 3. 5L 24v V6 original Nissan engine producing 360 hp fitted in the rear central position, semi-automatic gearbox with paddle shifts on the steering wheel, double wishbone suspensions and adjustable shock absorbers.
Bearing the chassis number 6, this particular car was used for the newcomer's launch campaign. Much more than a show car, it is a real and partially complete racing car. Indeed, the engine seems to be complete, the intake system and exhausts are also present, the gearbox is empty and the braking system is in place. Notably, the transmission, the electric wiring and the cooling system are missing. The exceptional provenance of this showcase car makes it a particularly desirable collector's item, its spectacular appearance will create a frenzy while on display, unless its next owner decides to start the ambitious project of getting it ready for the road.
