1967 JAGUAR MK2 3. 4 340 - RESTORED
Fresh from a 2 year recommission is our beautiful Jaguar 340 .
Purchased from the last owner who had owned it for a total of 19 years . It was in incredibly good level condition overall and required absolutely zero welding underneath as he had spent considerable time replacing everything underneath that it needed (floors, crows feet and various repair panels) all work has been carried out to such a standard you would struggle to distinguish it from factory underneath.
Outlined below is a list of all works carried out:
Body:
Being such a genuine and level example we took the decision to undertake a full strip down of the body , carry out any necessary repairs and repaint to a high standard .
Every piece of external trim was removed along with the interior and the doors, boot lid and bonnet and then the full shell and all the panels had a gentle soda blast to remove all the original paint and expose any repairs it may need before being etch primed to ensure no surface rust whilst repairs were carried out . We discovered that the front nearside wing had had a piece leaded into the top and was not up to standard was was re leaded by our metal worker, along with 2 very minor pieces that were cut from the rear lower window frame. The boot lid had a few minor holes below the paint along the bottom edge so this was cut out and replaced as a whole. The body itself though looked as solid as it appeared before we removed the paint . The body shell and all panels were then prepared and painted in opalescent silver grey (it’s factory colour) . All of the panels were painted off the car along with the inside of the boot . The inside of the wheel arches and internal floors along with the underside of the car were painted in body coloured “raptor” which gives a high quality finish but also protects against stone chips .
All of the external chrome trim and lights etc were then refitted along with various new lights/ repeator lenses and every single exterior rubber gasket/ seal replaced including all door seals and front/ rear windows before all the doors were gapped up correctly .
The wheels have also been re powder coated in the original colour to match the body
Interior:
As is obviously apparent the interior has been completely overhauled too . With the following works carried out:
Headlining fully retrimmed
All fur flex’s replaced on the door frames
New underlay/ insulation below all carpets
Full high quality carpet set in its original colour supplied by aldridge trimming
All walnut veneers refurbished/ relacquered
All interior trim including all seats, door cards, transmission tunnels , kick boards etc have all been reconnolised in its original colour .

Mechanicals:
When we purchased the car it was running and driving with no obvious issues but had clearly been off the road for some time so we ran a compression test on the engine to ensure there were no potential issues - compressions were all within usual tolerances .
We undertook the following works:
rocker covers removed , gaskets and chrome bolts replaced as well as new head bolts
new spark plugs, ht leads, distributor
new oil filter, fuel filter and fuel pump
windscreen wiper motor replaced
new column stalks (fortune!!)
new battery
braking system completely overhauled including a rebuild of all 4 calipers, discs and pads all round, new hoses, fluid etc .
gearbox flushed and a new filter and replacement oil
New exhaust brackets
The rear axle was also completely rebuilt with a refurb of the diff, new hubs, all new bearings, stub axles 9this was over a thousand pounds in parts alone before any labour!)
We will also be having the engine tuned/ set up for the new lucky owner .
As you can imagine this has been a huge labour of love and has swallowed a silly amount of money, we have a lot of stock of vehicles at the minute as well as other large scale projects that we are currently building so are offering this at an excellent price as you couldn’t complete one of these to this standard for any where near the price we are asking .
