Another R100R, literally just arrived.
Again, more than pleased to be offering a bike that I?ve had the pleasure of owning before.
This is a 1992, BMW R100R, that has just come back in from a very good customer of mine. Peter took this one out last year, and being his way, he?s detailed what was already a lovely, low mileage bike.
Being the last of the legendary Airheads, these R100R?s are the pinnacle of the breeds development. Better brakes, better suspension, better electrics (better everything really) but combined with the wonderful grunt and simplicity of that air cooled, two valve Boxer motor.
What?s not to like.
This particular bike, has been a UK bike from new, and covered only a documented 39k miles from new. VERY original in every respect, including that sparkling factory metallic paintwork. As you?d expect, she stats easily from hot or cold, with no smoke or drama, with great oil pressure and charging well. Out on the road, she?ll burble along at tickover, or cruise at illegal speeds (apparently). Infact, on a trip to Scotland a few weeks ago, I was sat behind Peter on the bike for a few hundred miles, and can confirm its impressive, trouble free performance.
Over and above factory spec, there are a number of nice upgrades, including factory panniers and Nonfango top box, factory crash bars, hand guards, heated grips, fly screen, braided brake lines, aftermarket side stand, clock / voltmeter, etc. `It also benefits from being twin plugged. At point of recent service, she was also fitted with stainless pushrod tubes, and a new set of stainless header pipes.
I?m sure that there?s more i could blither on about (i usually do), but this is a really honest, low mileage, nice riding Airhhead that is ready to go?.. anywhere.
