Ford C800 American COE truck. 1981 model year showing 9000 miles.
Spent most of its life as a deicer truck at Coventry airport. Great candidate for a cool retro/ rat rod type race car transporter. Imagine turning up at a race circuit, with a classic Ford themed paint job on this truck!!
The original Ford V8 has been replaced at some point with a Cummins 6BT engine. It runs as sweet as a nut and starts on the button. Its also got power steering and Allison auto transmission. Brakes are hydraulic with air compressor assistance.
I have collected a load of metalwork to go with the truck to enable construction of additional tool boxes and doors. I also fitted a secondhand fuel tank off another truck.
Has been rewired with some repairs to bodywork, although a little rough.
All the glass is good a part from the drivers window. This is available in the States apparently.
Due to the truck never being road registered I have acquired a NOVA certificate, with the truck then needing to be MOT'ed in order to get it registered. I can go into more detail about that for any interested party.
Due to other projects I have reluctantly decided to let this one go. So if you fancy being different, these Ford's are definitely over looked and have bags of character. The last photo shows what potential there is.
