A beautifully built example of the TT Replica Frazer-Nash, these famous chain-drive, sports-racing cars, were a success in period and continue to be so today, as witnessed by the recent Nash 1-2-3 result at Goodwood revival, where the Brooklands trophy was dominated by the Chain Gang?!
Indeed; one could argue that a TT replica is the quintessential VSCC car, ideal for racing, hill-climbs and flat out touring of the continent, perhaps, on one of the famous Raids, organised by the Frazer-Nash car club.
This particular car was built, from the chassis up, by marque specialists Beckhouse Engineering in 2010, with beautiful and accurate ash-framework by Jeff Henderson, with its deep dark green paint and interior expertly re-trimmed, dash-board correctly stocked and beautiful Bosch headlamps and switch, it is safe to say that the detail is pleasingly correct.
The engine chosen was a Pre-war catspaw A. C six cylinder, often fitted in period, by Nash men searching for out more power and torque, which of course these A. C engines deliver!
Whilst some original parts, were retained during its build, including the Bevel box and front axle, PJ 8414 has had, continuous VSCC buff forms, attesting to its eligibility, for their varied events, and is correctly road registered with a current V5c.
In its recent ownership, huge time and effort, not to mention expenditure, has been lavished on the car, most of the works undertaken, were delegated to marque experts Edwards Motorsport, well known for their exacting restoration and development of Frazer-Nash motorcars, with bills on file totalling nearly forty thousand pounds, these works included a complete engine re-build, refurbishment of the front axle, new road wheels and tyres and much more fettling and tuning , all resulting in a very rapid and driveable motorcar which is now ready for its next custodian to enjoy.
