Opel Ascona Group 2
Just been fully restored, using mainly new parts.
New FIA passport issued in July 2023, valid until 2033.
I have many photos that will give you a good idea of the build quality, also throughout the restoration.
It competed in its first rally in 1988 but has not been used for competition since the rebuild. Driven around 200km.
Engine:
• Mahle pistons, 95. 50.
• Steel connecting rods, group 2 classified.
• New piston rings, bearings, etc.
• New steel flywheel, pressure plate and clutch.
• New mechanical lifters.
• Enem P2 camshaft.
• 48mm Dellorto carburettors.
• Fully serviced 90A alternator.
• Bosh pointless ignition.
Gearbox:
• ZF gearbox with new FIA approved gear set, long 1st and straight 5th gear.
• 5. 28 rear differential ration, ZF big Lsd.
Brakes:
• Front ATE, rear AP.
• Hydraulic handbrake.
Other safety equipment:
• Aluminium safety tank.
• OMP extinguishing system.
• Plexiglas.
• OMP seats and belts, valid until 2025.
• Etc.
Car’s weight is 990kg.
