1956 Norton 88 Dominator 500cc Registration Number: WLG 200 Frame Number: L12264939 - Benefits from older restoration - Matching engine and frame numbers The Norton Model 88 was the first of Norton’s machines to use the famous Featherbed Frame, one of the finest handling machines, of its time. The model was originally called the Dominator de Luxe, but in 1956 the Dominator name was dropped and the Model 88 was born. The Dominator name returned in 1959, with the model being known as the 88 Dominator. The Norton racing team started developing the 88 for racing, the model being known as the Domiracer. This lovely matching numbers 88, with certification from the Norton owners club, comes from a small private collection. Described by the vendor as being in good running order when stored last year, the bike may now need minor attention before hitting the road in 2024.
