MG Q Type Recreation
This car is a faithful recreation of the 1934 Q-Type. Access to an original Q-Type, photographs of original cars, notes taken from original cars and original drawings and patterns were used to ensure the greatest accuracy. The car is a combination of refurbished original equipment parts combined with new parts. It is currently UK registered as MG 5640 and can be used on the road.
The car is registered with the Vintage Sports Car Club (VSCC) and has the all-important "Buff Form" to allow it to compete in VSCC events.
The 746cc P Type engine is race-prepared and ready for hillclimb, track or road. The engine has been rebuilt at great expense and attention to detail with Phoenix crank and rods, racing pistons and lightened flywheel. The car has been set up on a rolling road and performs very well.
K3 Type chassis rails, N Type axles, springs and shock absorbers to original Q spec. Volumex supercharger and original rebuilt MG ENV75 pre-selector gearbox. Full Q instrumentation. 12 inch Holden & Hunt brakes with cockpit adjustment. Hand made 17 gallon fuel tank made to original Q Type drawings. Recent leather upholstery and tonneau cover.
The body is a hand made original style with correct louvring and opening tail, the latter housing a pair of 6 volt batteries as per original. The car is fitted with full racing body under-trays.
This Q Type recreation is fitted with full lighting and mudguards, including hidden indicators, and is road-registered with a valuable MG registration number.

This car has been restored with huge attention to detail and extensive specification, including many features unique to Q Types.
Road registered with the benefit of a Vintage Sports Car Club Buff Form allowing it to compete in VSCC events.
This car really looks the part and is beautifully proportioned, unlike recreations built on P or T Type chassis – it is a fun, fast, attention-grabbing car that turns heads wherever it goes. It comes with a spare wheel and additional exhaust silencer.
