Description
This low ownership Mg was first registered on 23 rd June 1957. The first owner kept it until 1961, when it was passed to the 2 nd owner when the mileage was 38450. It was then cared for by three generations of his family until 2014. It is understood the car was used daily until 1983 when it was taken off the road and dry stored for the next 30 years. The mileage at this time was 87267.
It was removed from storage and a full restoration was completed in 2016. This including a full engine rebuild to unleaded specification, new sills and valances, all corrosion cut out of panels and new steel fabricated and fitted with lead loading where necessary. The gearbox was also rebuilt and new clutch fitted.
The car was then treated to a bare shell respray in the original baritone colours of twilight grey/ birch grey. All of this has been photographically recorded in a plastic bound folder.
The interior had a new west of england cloth headlining fitted, new wool carpets and seats etc fully refurbished.
It is still presents as an extremely sound and good looking car. There are a few minor imperfections on the paint all of which we are happy to photograph to any prospective buyer. . We have allowed for this in the asking price should the new owner wish to remedy this.
The interior is still lovely, engine bay clean and tidy. It drives superbly and comes with current mot until February 2025. It comes with all its original handbooks, workshop manuals and extensive history files.
It has attended many events during last year including the Goodwood revival and brooklands mg day.
