Many consider the Mini Cooper S John Cooper Works GP2 to be one of the greatest Minis ever made - The ultimate balance of power & weight, combined with timeless design and extreme rarity. Of the 2000 made, only 288 made their way to the UK, and this particular example has been further refined with the addition of some extremely tasteful modifications further enhancing the strengths of the platform. We know this car well, having originally sourced it for it's existing owner who is now sourcing a JDM car with us.
Exterior
This GP2 comes in the GP exclusive colour of Racing Grey, with silver roof and red accents. GP Decals along the side and intake further highlight the models rarity. The paintwork is in good condition commensurate with age and mileage, with the side skirts having just been professionally repainted due to the usual 'gravel rash' found. Many of the originally chrome pieces of trim have been painted black for better consistency of the exterior, and the aesthetics (As well as the dynamic abilities) of the vehicle are further enhanced by the addition of KW V3 Coilovers and OZ Ultraleggera lightweight wheels.
Interior
Inside the vehicle the car is in exceptional condition. Boasting many GP specific features including GP numbered badging, GP scuff plates, red stitching, rear seat delete / brace and John Cooper Works Recaro seats, this offers the best combination of purity and comfort. As with the exterior, there has been improvements to the interior also - Most notable the CAE shifter mechanism offering a centrepiece of the interior, as well as providing more direct and faster shifting.
Mechanical
The John Cooper Works Mini GP2 is already a formidable hot hatch, but again this car takes it to 11 - Scorpion Decat, Resonator Delete, upgraded dump valves, ITG Panel Filter and Manic Stage 2 tune bring this car to 275bhp, the perfect amount of power for this lightweight car and back roads. The car is easy to drive under normal conditions, but when asked it delivers outstanding power immediately through the front wheels, and this combined with the already exceptional chassis, Quaife LSD, Organic Clutch & Flywheel and KW V3 coilovers mean that this Mini can cover ground at an exceptional pace. Brembo 6 pot calipers with yellow stuff pads on the front also bring the hot hatch to a stop when needed, and this particular car also benefits from a recent rear caliper replacement and refresh.
