Description
1931 AUSTIN 7 ‘ULSTER’ REPLICA
OV 2103
This very well constructed and maintained Ulster replica is in superb condition and is ready for a multitude of VSCC events and rallies.
Built upon an original 1931 SWB chassis of the correct year for an original ‘Ulster’ and using bodywork, by the renowned coachbuilder Rod Yates, it remains in superb condition throughout.
Recent maintenance has been carried out by historic specialists, Rees Bros & Harding Auto Services, with extra time spent on tuning on Harding’s rolling road and with over twenty thousand pounds of reciepts, in the last 3 years (all on file), this is one well maintained Austin 7!
The engine features a Barlow inlet manifold and SU carburettor, four branch ulster exhaust manifold and a 9E ‘Ulster’ high compression head all running well after the exhaustive tuning.
The dashboard features the correct array of ‘Ulster’ type instruments with Smiths Ma Clock, oil pressure gauge and speedo and rev counter, along with the correct type of original choke pull.
The seats and side panels have been expertly re-trimmed in black vinyl which contrasts very well with the light green cellulose coachwork and black cycle wings, it also has a full tonneau for those wetter days!
The road wheels look to have been recently re-built and are of the correct open centre 19inch size and are fitted with Blockley tubes and 3. 50 x 19 triple stud tyres.
Lighting is period-correct, with a set of R47 headlamps from William Mc Kenzie and recent addition of indicators and wiring loom, the car also now runs on a 12V conversion, giving better starting and charging.
Used by the previous owner in various VSCC driving tests, this delightful Ulster would be well suited to trials and speed events, having been so fastidiously prepared to date.
In summary a really well looked after Replica Ulster, with huge recent expenditure and as a result rather good value at the asking price, these cars are such fun and an ideal entry to vintage motoring or addition to your existing stable!
