Description
In 2002, based on the Clio RS 2. 0 16V, Renault Sport developed and marketed a very limited series (only 300 were made), named "Jean Ragnotti", after the famous French rally driver. This version has been lightened by 80 kg (weight savings achieved in part by replacing the spare wheel with two anti-puncture bombs) and benefits from optimised running gear. Special springs lower the vehicle's overall height by 3 mm, and special wheels widen the tracks at both front and rear. Other modifications to the chassis give this radical version improved aerodynamics and a considerable gain in downforce.
Finally, in terms of aesthetics, the Turini wheels, with a design reminiscent of the competition models, were fitted, as was the metallic "Bleu Mondial" paintwork specific to this model. The car we are offering was delivered in France on 27 September 2002 and had 4 owners until May 2016, when the current owner acquired it. It still has its logbook and maintenance book, stamped up to 5, 150 km. In 2016, the new owner, a collector and rally enthusiast, decided to restore his "Ragnotti" to near-new condition in terms of presentation and mechanics: a great deal of work was carried out in 2017 (mechanical invoices available), the car was completely repainted and is now presented to you in absolutely exceptional condition. It has covered barely 1, 000 km since that date, leaving its heated garage only 4 or 5 times a year for short Sunday drives. Distribution, water pump, discs, brake pads, shock absorbers, everything had been done at 78, 430 kms. We will, of course, carry out the distribution and oil change again for delivery, so that the car is ready to take to the road again in perfect condition... and having had the chance to drive it for a few kilometres, I can assure you that you immediately find yourself with the same legendary smile as Jean Ragnotti when the first bends arrive...
