Description
Visible in Belgium, at Spa - a stone's throw from the most beautiful circuit in the world! The Lotus Europa is a mid-engined sports car designed by Colin Chapman and manufactured in England by Lotus Cars. Several versions were produced between 1966 and 1975, including this Series 2 edition from 1972. Production of the Europa remained very limited, with just over 9, 200 examples made in 10 years. The S2 version accounted for just over a third of that total. Externally, the first S2s differed little from the latest S1s, but they offered greater comfort: electric windows, adjustable seats, a tinted windscreen and a new dashboard with a wood finish, giving a more luxurious feel. It was built in 1972, left-hand drive and to European specifications. It benefited from a complete restoration in the 2000s by APC in the Netherlands. A new body was purchased direct from the Lotus factory (invoice available) and a new Renault Crossflow 1565cc engine was fitted. Several options were added during the restoration: Aluminium wheels Rocker panel Second fan Electric fuel pump Circuit breaker The car is painted in an elegant Midnight Blue shade, with a black leather interior in excellent condition. I have always maintained the vehicle with great care and have made all the necessary investments to keep it in near concours condition. Recent works include: New brake system Replaced door seals Carburettor adjustment Specialist servicing
