1960 Chevy C20 Apache Stepside – Project Truck with Loads of Potential
** Make us a Fair Offer - No Swaps or PX - Thank you
If you're after a solid old-school project, this 1960 Chevrolet C20 Apache Stepside could be just the one. It's a proper classic truck that's already got a lot going for it, and with some time and elbow grease, it could turn into something really special.
The details:
Freshly built Chevy 350 V8 motor just fitted
Twin side exhausts – sounds great and suits the truck perfectly
Manual gearbox
Clutch needs a new flexi line
Brakes all work (4 x drum brakes) – would recommend a full service before putting it on the road
Chassis is solid and not rusted out, but should be rust-treated to preserve it
Rear bed box is solid and will clean up nicely
Interior needs a new carpet and some work on the bench seat (recover or repair – easy job)
The body has surface rust and some flaking paint, but that's part of the appeal. Give it a light rub-down and tidy up the rough spots, and you could have a really nice authentic patina look without spending a fortune on paint.
These early 1960s Apache's are getting harder to find, especially in decent shape. This model was the first to feature Chevy's “drop-center” frame and independent front suspension, so they ride better than the earlier trucks. The classic dual headlights and stepside box give it that unmistakable vintage style everyone loves.
Overall, it's a straightforward project — not a rust bucket, not a basket case. With a bit of attention, this one could easily become an awesome-looking classic truck that's fun to drive and gets attention everywhere it goes.
