NEW ARRIVAL This 1972 MGB MKII Roadster was first registered on 9th March 1972 with the number plate MDT 339K and is finished in the lovely Flame Red with a Black Leather interior, Black carpets, new Black Vinyl Hood and Weather equipment, 1798cc 4 cylinder (18GG) Engine, 4 Speed Gearbox with Overdrive on 3rd/ 4th Gears, Revotec electric cooling fan, electronic ignition, poly-bushed suspension, stainless steel exhaust system and new Chrome Wire Wheels and new Tyres. It was completely rebuilt with a new Heritage Body-shell between 1992-1994 by its then owner in Bury St Edmunds with almost all new parts being supplied by the MGB Hive. There is a huge collection of invoices in the file for all parts used and for various repairs + a log of expenditure was kept by the owner from 1992 through to when he sold it in 2002 and this has been continued by the subsequent 4 owners. The owner from 2009 until 2020 really did go to town on the car and spent a further £15, 600 on mostly mechanical works, but including some paint rectification, but most importantly a full engine rebuild in October 2017 @ 42, 737 miles with associated works including a new Clutch, new poly-bushed suspension, new shock absorbers, new steering rack, new prop-shaft, electronic ignition, electric cooling fan, Alternator, Water pump, Overdrive overhaul, new brake hoses, rear wheel cylinders and brake shoes and routine servicing during his 11 years of ownership. The current owners purchased the car from us in August 2022 and they have driven less than 1, 000 miles in it over the last 4 years, and it has always been kept with tender love and care under a light cover in a dehumidified garage and only taken out in fine weather and driven around the downs where they live in Eastbourne. The only works carried out by them, apart from servicing, has been to replace the alternator, battery, and a couple of switches and relays. The only reason for selling the car now is due to retirement and space. The mileage on the speedometer is now reading 48, 049 miles, so the car has only covered 5, 500 miles on the rebuilt Engine and we believe this is the total mileage covered since the car was rebuilt in the mid 1990's when a new speedometer was fitted. The car is presented in fabulous condition throughout and drives beautifully and it comes with the new indoor car cover purchased by the owner along a spare set of stove enamelled Wire Wheels and tyres + the superb history file of invoices, handbooks and manuals. NB: The photographs shown are from 2022 when it was last sold by us, but it looks exactly the same except for the new set of Chrome Wire Wheels and new Tyres fitted - New photo's to follow. It is of course registered as an 'Historic Vehicle' and is therefore Road Tax free and MOT exempt being over 40 years old and is also ULEZ exempt. Upon sale it will be given a pre-sales service and checkover and a new MOT and will come with our own 6 month Mechanical Warranty which can be upgraded and extended if required.
