Description
1968 Morgan 4/ 4 (4-seater) – one owner from new
Owned by the same couple from new, this charming 4-seater was their main family car for many years.
It’s clearly been cherished throughout its life and maintained properly, with repairs carried out as needed. As a result, it presents beautifully for its age.
Finished in mid red with black interior and black wet-weather gear, it’s a smart-looking car. The chrome has clearly enjoyed plenty of Autosol over the years and remains in great order, as do the painted wire wheels. Inside you’ll find a lovely wooden dashboard, an aluminium-and-leather steering wheel, an added heater for cold mornings, and a neatly hidden battery isolator switch.
The trim is excellent for a car that’s nearly 60 years old. The front seats have been updated, offering noticeably better support and comfort than the originals.
Mechanically it’s very sound: it starts on the button and runs like a Singer sewing machine. There are a few minor oil leaks here and there, but they should be straightforward to sort. Overall, it’s a car you can jump in and enjoy straight away.
It had a new chassis at some point in its history and fitted with a galvanised version. It also has aluminium wings and has benefitted from a full respray, which is holding up very well. There are a few marks commensurate with age, but they don’t detract from the car’s overall appearance.
There’s a fully documented history file, with a huge bundle of receipts going right back to the beginning.
The odometer shows just under 28, 000 miles, although I suspect it may be on its second time around the clock.
Paperwork shows an engine rebuild in 2003, followed by a cylinder head refresh by Allon White in 2007.
It wears a lovely, honest patina and represents outstanding value. For the money, you’ll struggle to find a more usable and well-presented Morgan 4/ 4.
Priced at just £10500.
