In the late 90’s and early 00’s the French were masters of lightweight hot hatches. The Citroen Saxo VTS was powered by a 1. 6 16v engine with 120bhp, but the phase 2 like this one only weighed in at 920kg’s. This Lucifer Red car is only on its 3rd owner from new and was sold by London West Citroen in September of 2002. Prior to current ownership the car was traded in at a Honda dealership by its first owner in 2023. Someone at the dealership, realising how clean the car was, opted to keep the car themselves for 12 months before it was sold on to its current owner.
With low miles for its age, the car has recently been used as a daily driver, but remains in fantastic condition throughout. Whilst in regular use, a number of jobs have been carried out to ensure the mechanicals are as good as the car looks. It’s had Lano guard treatment to preserve the underside of the car which is in outstanding order. The catalytic converter was replaced along with cambelt and water pump. A new rear beam was also fitted along with Bilstein shocks, new discs and pads all round and powerflex bushes. Other parts replaced in current ownership include ARB links, handbrake cables, N/ S/ F lower suspension arm, engine mount, throttle position sensor, ignition coil and spark plugs. It had a full service at 69, 196 miles.
Sadly in 2016 damage was recorded on the car and reported by the original owner as being light damage to drivers rear quarter, stated in an email to the Honda dealership. With an estimated repair cost on car vertical of just £500-£1500. The car is in fantastic order throughout and there are no signs to the main structure and shell that show any serious damage has ever occurred. This car is ideal for someone looking for a VTS with low miles and strong service history.
The sale includes two genuine keys with London West Citroen key ring, Lond West emergency breakdown kit, The original Citroen wallet with all its manuals including stamped service book up to 56, 000 miles, with invoices to back up services after this and works carried out in current ownership. Other documents include current V5C and original dealer brochures for the Saxo including equipment and technical specifications. Just a couple of issues to report, one being the alarm is disconnected and the 2nd that if you push down the indicator stalk down too hard one way the indicator flashes to fast. We have additional images available upon request as well as a walk around video. This car is sold on commission-based sale or return service on behalf of a private seller.
