In the small world of motoring, the two initials RS – for Renn Sport – attached to the Sierra propelled this car to superstar status at the end of the 1980s. With a bad-boy look, it immediately won public favour and the drivers by becoming the nemesis of the roads and circuits against its main enemies, the BMW M3 E30 and the Mercedes 190E 2. 3-16.
This is especially true of the example we are offering, which thrilled fans in eastern France in its day, while in the hands of a fiery Vosges driver, Guy Deybach.
At the wheel of this car, he took part between 1989 and 1990 in several regional and national rallies at the top level, including the Alsace-Vosges, the Mont-Blanc, the Vosges du Nord, the Lorraine, the Alpes Vaudoises, with some notable results including a 7th place and a class victory at the 1989 Alsace-Vosges...
The current owner acquired the car just over 10 years ago, directly from Guy Deybach. While it was in a presentable and working condition, he has since spent nearly €22, 000 to perfect it and to provide the care and adjustments needed for this devilish 2WD to perform as it does.
