We are delighted to offer this charming 1955 Austin A30 Saloon, recently taken in part exchange from a local owner. A wonderful example that has clearly been cherished throughout its life, presenting in truly exceptional condition.
Finding an A30 that hasn't succumbed to the ravages of rust is becoming increasingly difficult, making this car quite remarkable. The bodywork is outstanding, with exceptionally straight panels and excellent fit throughout. The floor pans, sills and underside are all 100% solid, even retaining the original jacking points , something almost unheard of on these cars, which were once renowned for rusting with enthusiasm!
The wings, doors, bonnet and boot lid are all beautifully solid, while the paintwork has a deep, glossy finish that really complements the car's timeless lines.
Inside, the cabin is equally impressive. The original seat upholstery and door cards have survived in excellent condition, while the headlining is quite incredible and is very much like new. Everything has a wonderfully authentic feel, exactly as an unspoilt A30 should.
Mechanically, the Austin starts instantly at the turn of the key and drives extremely well. It rides on an excellent set of radial tyres, making it a very usable and enjoyable classic.
Accompanying the car is a comprehensive history folder containing service records, invoices, receipts and the original handbooks. The odometer currently displays just 23, 000 miles. Whilst this could well be genuine, it cannot be warranted due to the vehicle's age.
The Austin A30 is one of Britain's most characterful post-war family cars. Although compact on the outside, the interior is surprisingly spacious, making it a delightful classic for local shows, weekend drives or simply enjoying some nostalgic motoring.
A beautifully preserved example in exceptional condition throughout and a rare opportunity to own one of the best A30s we have encountered in many years.
