The first owner purchased this car new in Whitstable, Kent and kept the car until 1989 During these initial 23 years the car was obviously very well cared for as can be seen by the lists of maintenance and servicing receipts that I have. These records also include:
• The original BMC Service Passport from the supplying dealer
• The original handbook
• The original green ‘BP Energol’ plastic wallet that contains all of the service sheets for these early years.
• A 1966 ‘Motor Car Expenses’ book, detailing all expenditure, including every gallon of fuel – mile by mile!
It was then purchased by the second owner who also lived in Whitstable, who continued to cherish it for the next 22 years, maintaining paperwork records. Service sheets and MOT’s can record the mileage and history from when the car was new right through to today. Also, with the exception of minor ongoing maintenance and repairs the bodywork, paintwork and interior all appear completely original.
At summer shows this car attracts so much attention as you just do not see them around anymore and certainly not in such original condition. If you are into the Goodwood Revival scene then this car is absolutely ideal!
