This is a Kirkham Replica of a 1964 AC Cobra MK2. Owned and built by a AC enthusiast with over 30 years experience in the restoration of all types of AC including Ace, Aceca and Cobra
The car has the neat all ALLOY body with discreet wheel arch flaring and period wire wheels painted black.
The chassis is identical to the original with transverse leaf springs front and rear .
The engine a Ford 302 small block V8 dressed to look like a 289 was built by Mike Huddard as a fast road/ track engine and delivers 240 bhp at the wheels with 235 ft. lbs torque at 3500 r. p. m. Tested on rolling road at Austec Racing .
Originally fitted with a super T 10 4 speed cast iron g/ box this has been replaced with a 5 speed T5.
Tuned exhaust system with tubular headers and stainless steel boxes and back pipes. At 95 decibels the noise meets even Goodwood requirements for Track Days but still has that famous sound.
Stainless Steel Roll over bar and full weather gear in black.
Dash board instruments are Smiths units . The steering wheel is a hand made period unit from the AC factory
Seats made to original pattern trimmed in black leather.
Regularly seen and track days and AC events the car has covered 3000 miles and is well sorted.
The car is registered as an AC with period registration.
To build this car now would cost in excess of the asking price.
