A lovely well admired Somerset. Originally registered to a vicar in Bideford, Devon, this car has spent its life in Devon and Cornwall. It has a great deal of history with tax discs and MOTs from the 70s. In the early 2000s it underwent some restoration including a respray, windscreen and rear window rubbers, and a range of mechanical and brightwork refurbishments. I bought the car in 2005 and have done the headlining, carpets, brakes. I have left the seats as I like the 'patina' they add, although the stitching is broken in places - not a problem with the light use the car gets. The Devon number plate goes with the car, although it is transferable.
The car drives very well with smooth acceleration and good braking. It is is quite economical, with no sign of any smoke from the exhaust. I have recently changed the oil and filter and the points and plugs were replaced in the last year.
There are spares, which a purchaser is welcome to, including fuel pump, carb, wiper motor, radio etc.
A car with a lot of character, which will give much pleasure.
