EXTERIOR
The solid Laguna Seca blue paintwork is now a rare sight on UK roads – a stunning motorsport launch colour that compliments the compact dimensions of the E46 perfectly. Whilst not especially popular when new, the divisive ‘LSB’ is certainly now enjoying a resurgence in popularity and with this example garaged from new, and detailed on a regular basis, the paintwork is in astonishing condition with an ultra smooth finish.
None of the trim or rubber seals are damaged whilst lenses and grilles are clean and crack free.
INTERIOR
The interior matches the exterior condition, it looks, feels and smells almost as new with only some typically light marks to the ash tray cover and handbrake surround to report. The leather still retains its matte finish with only the lightest of driver’s bolster wear to report whilst the dash, door cards are and the steering wheel retain a texture you’d expect with such low mileage.
The dark blue soft top presents and performs as it should with a matching unmarked hardtop also supplied.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The straight 6 S54 motorsport engine is a technical masterpiece with exceptional performance and a buzz saw engine note, all whilst delivering respectable economy. The car drives incredibly well and remains tight and in keeping with its low mileage.
The SMG II gearbox offers considerations for both cruising and more spirited driving and operates exactly as it should with no clutch slur or hesitation.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
This E46 has the desirable 19″ alloys, correctly finished with a diamond cut face and dark anthracite insert wrapped in a set of excellent ContiSport 6 tyres.
Brake discs and pads show plenty of life with the last Inspection 2 and subsequent brake fluid change just 3k miles ago.
HISTORY FILE
First registered in March 2003 by Whitehouse Ruxley the car has stayed local to the Kent area it’s entire life with only 2 previous owners. The car returned to the supplying dealer for it’s running in stamp before further servicing at 16k, 23k, 28k and 33k miles.
Diff seals and rear springs have been recently attended to, whilst the airbag recall has also been performed.
All original literature is present and correct alongside the spare keys and every MOT certificate from new.
