This Triumph Stag has been with the last owner 28 years and it comes with a huge history file detailing much work over the years that includes hand written notes etc. It has spent the last 4 years or so in secure dry storage being started from time to time. It has just passed its MOT and we have run the car for approx. 80 miles and can say that it drives really well and the engine is very smooth and cool running at all times, it has a very good oil pressure and is a very reliable car and this should be your impression.
Looking through the history file there is an invoice from the highly regarded Stag specialist “Faversham Classics” in 2004 for a complete engine rebuild and other work to the car that totalled just under £6000 in 2004. We were assured by the previous owner that the car had only covered approx. 1000 miles since and the service history as far as we can tell confirms this. Please contact us for full details.
This Triumph Stag is a great example of an original/ good usable and reliable car. It could be improved and there are some imperfections and you should expect this, for a more detailed description please make contact. But in brief summary: The paint work has minor imperfections and the rear arches have some swelling and rust bubbles but not to extensive, there is a hole in the side of the hood but we will mention that the frame looks to have been previously refurbished, the interior is good/ average/ fair condition and could be improved that said, the seats are firm and we understand the passenger front seat was previously refurbished, the boot carpets are fair/ poor and a boot board is missing.
It has 4 branch exhaust manifolds fitted and an Alarm system.
The cars strengths are that it still is has its original floor pans and boot floor and these are in good order, the mechanics are very good and this should be your impression, when looking underneath it is possible to see many newish nuts and bolts and new bushes etc, the boot lid and bonnet are in excellent almost rust free condition and the doors are also in very good condition, new front wings have previously been fitted. It really is a very good usable car that could be used and enjoyed today. We have a lot of confidence in this cars reliability and would drive the car anywhere.
In summary this is a very original car that would benefit from improvement, it could be used every day and has a very good mechanics.
