Beschreibung

The Jensen C-V8 is a four-seater GT car produced by Jensen Motors between 1962 and 1966. Launched in October 1962, the C-V8 series had fibreglass bodywork with aluminium door skins.

All C-V8s used big-block engines sourced from Chrysler; first the 361 and then, from 1964, the 330 bhp 383 in³. Most of the cars had three-speed Chrysler Torqueflite automatic transmission, but seven Mk2 C-V8s were produced with the 6-litre engine and four-speed manual gearbox, followed by two manual Mk3s. The car was one of the fastest production four-seaters of its era. The Mk II, capable of 136 mph, ran a quarter mile in 14. 6 seconds, and accelerated from 0–60 mph in 6. 7 seconds.

With only 69 MKI, 250 MKII and 127 MKIII’s make the CV8 a rare motor car.

This CV8 MKII was first sold by Courtney Pope of Emhurst Park, Tottenham N15 to K D M Cherrington Ltd, London in June 1964.
There is record in the Jensen owners club that the second owner from Canterbury owned the car from November 1968.

A collector in the USA where the car was part of a museum collection purchased the car; it was then shipped back to the UK in July 1990, when the car was purchased by Noel Farrah up until 2003.

Mr Andrew Hawarth of Acton by Budwell, Cheshire purchased the car in2007. The next part is a little unclear, but the car was sold to Auto Museum Stainz in Austria (Karl Ritter Museum).

In July 2012 Luzaggo Classic Cars in Italy advertised the car for sale.
The car was then sold in 2013 at the Coys auction to Justin Banks in a un-derivable condition. The car at the time did not have a MOT, so Mr Bank had all the work carried out to get the car through a MOT and road worthy.

The car was purchased by the current owner in March 2014 and driven straight to Cropredy Bridge where a full inspection and report was carried out. All the work was carried out which included new cooling system, carburettor (old one still with the car) electrical system, exhaust system, steering suspension, brakes and a lot more to make the car mechanically sound.

The underside and chassis was checked and any areas made good along with the interior floor, which has been totally stripped, treated and resealed, so the car is sound throughout.

The trim is in very good original condition, the exterior paint is good, but noticeable defects show when up close, nothing major.

The owner applied for the original registration number 301 HUC, which is back on the car.
