The maserari coupe came as an evolution to the 3200GT. This time Maserati was under the biggest name in the business, Ferrari and the new coupe was built to become a true great. A real Grand Tourer. For this reason the Ferrari 4200cc V8 was used (similar with the Ferrari F430) that produced 400bhp.
The Cambiocorsa F1 gearbox came also from Ferrari with Michael Schumacher developing the car and the gearbox. Gabrielle Tarquini was also at the time the chief development test driver for Maserati and the complete evolution was done at the Fiorano test track.
The Giugiaro designed body remains to this day a classic and combines details from the Great GT's made by Maserari in the 60's and early 70's.
This car is a very rare RHD face lifting 2005 manual gearbox example. Less than 10 face lifting cars were officially imported in the U. K. with a manual gearbox which makes the car much easier to drive but also wipes out all the sensitive F1 gearbox problems.
