Descrição
The Alvis TE21 was a four seater sports saloon with Alvis' own engine and was launched in 1963 and was built up to 1966, though run out models were still built in 1967. The engine was 2993cc 6 cylinder that was first used in the TA21, but which received a modified cylinder head and manifold which raised power to 132 bhp and gave a top speed of 107mph.
All round disc brakes were very unusual at the time and Alvis lead the way in fitting these as standard, helping their cars to pull up strongly. The brakes will need a little attention as the car has stood for a few months before being moved to our workshop. They were overhauled about 18 months ago, but better safe than sorry.
This car has had a new, 5 speed manual gearbox fitted. The engine starts and runs really well, pulls strongly and has a brand new battery.
The car could either be used as it is as a regular classic driver, or could be gradually improved, certainly a little TLC on the leather would reap immediate dividends and should not be expensive to produce significant enhancements.
These cars are rapidly acquiring an appreciation of their elegance, performance and the ability to carry four people in comfort within a coupe body. A handbuilt British performance classic car.
This car is being sold on behalf of a client and does not have an MOT. We are experts in classic car restoration and can produce anything from a ground up restoration to a light refurbishment.
