We are delighted to offer for sale this fabulous 1970 Lotus Elan +2 4 speed.
This car has been purchased and worked on as part of a new TV series. We looked at a number of examples before deciding to purchase this one, as it offered a degree of honesty and originality that is rare to find. We have taken a car that was ‘pretty good’ and given it the cosmetic attention it needed.
Mechanically, the car was already in excellent condition with a tight, lively on-road experience. The previous owner spent literally years making it drive and run correctly. It has the 1557cc Lotus twin cam – (126bhp, 0-60 7. 9s) - which revs well and does not overheat. The gears, clutch, brakes and steering are all at the high standard this car requires.
A full programme of cosmetic works has now been completed and has included a full strip, treatment and repair of all fibreglass across the whole car, a full respray in stunning Glacier Blue.
Rechromed bumpers, headlights and refurbished wheels beautifully finish off the exterior transformation
Internally, a new headlining has been fitted, the dashboard has been refurbished and fitted with a new clock. All electrics have also been checked.
We have been attempting to make a car that can be used and enjoyed and have retained as much of the original charm of the car as possible.
