Magnificent Shogun V6 3000 LWB automatic. Original UK supplied and spec car. These are wonderful vehicles and this is an astounding example.
Highly sought after in this condition and with 180bhp from the 3 litre V6 petrol engine it has the power you would expect from a classic 90's 4x4 - she's as quick as our modern XC90 - and of course sounds glorious.
Eminently useable classic, even on a daily basis, and really good fun to drive too. The auto gearbox makes it very relaxing to drive, and operates perfectly. Kick down is instant when required and the Shogun really can move, making for comfortable overtaking if necessary.
The condition of the Shogun is outstanding. It has been the subject of a massively comprehensive restoration. The chassis was stripped and sandblasted and then painted with an American military-grade chassis paint. It has been waxoyle cavity injected into sills etc. The vehicle is immaculate underneath, and under the bonnet too. Following is a list of some of the work that has been recently carried out;
New cambelt/ tensioners (there's 2), idlers, auxiliary belts/ tensioners, new cam seals, new valve guide seals, new water pump/ seals and all gaskets renewed, new starter motor and alternator, new brakes/ tyres/ shock absorbers, full exhaust, new radiator, new wishbones, new anti-roll bar bushes and drop links, new wheel bearings, has front and rear cameras wired to in dash screen stereo/ dvd player, new headlight bulbs and spot lights, new heater matrix/ pipes, vacuum pipes, inter alia.
The interior is immaculate. Full grey leather is soft and supple and unmarked to all seven seats. Dashboard and door inserts are perfect. New rubber overmats and underneath the grey carpet is still soft and in excellent condition. All electric windows, mirrors, (and indeed all switch gear) works. Full panoramic glass electric sunroof. Voltmeter (renewed) and ext temp and altimeter work perfectly. Rear seat controls for heating and fan in working order too.
The exterior bodywork is the only area to have not been brought up to renewed perfection, which I like as it still looks so good and is original.
The deep metallic green paintwork still shines beautifully after a wash and wax, but the car retains the patina of a 21 year old vehicle in its original condition. The plastic bumpers and arches have areas of fading and flaking and are generally weathered. I have not addressed this, but should the buyer wish for a perfectly presented show car then it would be very little work to get it there. Personally we have really enjoyed the Shogun as it is - she attracts a lot of compliments, but is not concours outside.
Cosmetically it is original apart from chrome bull bars and spotlights, and a rare fitted bonnet deflector. Rear passenger and boot windows have been professionally dark tinted and really suits it.
The original alloy wheels have been fully refurbished and are in perfect condition with chrome centre caps. There are matching Cooper Discoverer tires which are fairly new and in perfect condition.
Overall, an incredible head turning classic V6 Shogun that is stunning and totally reliable having been extensively mechanically renewed over the last 12 months or so. This surely must be one of the very best examples of this now very rare model in the entire country. She is much loved by our family and will be genuinely missed, but we currently have five cars and are about to move house and so the time has come to sell her on to a proud new owner.
The car has a current MOT (with no advisories) until April 2018.
The Shogun will be sold with a new MOT with no advisories and freshly serviced.
I am open to reasonable offers but please no more people wasting time pretending they are in a position to buy.
I have now booked in with an excellent restorative paint shop in a few weeks to renew the plastic body mouldings, arches and bumpers which will bring the car up to fully immaculate.
I will be happy to adjust price before or indeed prepay and keep the appointment for the buyer.
