This rare 1600E Mk2 series 1 is believed to have covered only 34, 000 miles since new. The first owner was a TVS presenter and the car was registered to him until 2011. It was taken off the road early in its life at 30, 000 miles and not driven in anger until Birchfield Classics acquired it and re-commissioned it for use which included a full brake overhaul, new sills, and servcing and tuning as required. It was resrayed in its original colour.
Since then the engine engine has been converted to run on unleaded petrol, the suspension has been re-bushed and a stainless steel exhaust has been fitted. It has original the spotlights and radio and the original handbook in the file.
The bodywork is very smart with a deep shine to the paintwork, the interior is lovely and original with little or no wear and the car drives very nicely having been well cared for since by its two enthusiastic owners since it went back on the road. It has had only four registered owners since new.
In excellent condition throughout, this rare Cortina has attracted much interest at the shows it has attended.
