The Morris Minor Van and Pick-up were built from 1953 until the end of Minor production in 1972. They differed from the salon car in having a separate chassis rather than a unitary body-shell. Mechanical specifications were the same as the saloon and engine sizes grew as they did in the other models – first 803cc then 948cc and finally from 1962, 1098cc. Values for classic commercials have risen steadily but these practical and stylish vehicles still offer great value for money, particularly if you own a business.
This vehicle is a 1970 Minor pickup in its original and quite rare colour of Persian Blue. It is an older restoration – carried out in 2000 by East Sussex Minors – that remains in beautiful condition. The upper body and underside are excellent and the interior and load area are in very smart order. On the road this pick-up drives as well as any Minor commercial we have driven with a crisp gear-change and strong brakes.
We have just carried out an oil and filter change and general check-over and this pick-up is now ready to use. MOT until August 2018 and (free) classic tax.
