Full Restoration was undertaken 2011, offering an unusual twist on the practical Mini Clubman Estate and includes many modern upgrades; to summarise it is fitted with a Sixites “Countryman” full wood kit and Limited Edition (of 1000) “Side Walk" Mini interior trim, professionally upholstered to include both front and rear seats, plus all side panels, including the luggage bay. This is enhanced with walnut side cappings and dashboard. It has all reconditioned mechanicals, a 12” disc brake conversion, with matching 12-inch Minilite style wheels and sports tyres, fully adjustable Hi-Lo suspension, sports exhaust system, electronic ignition and an uprated, lead-free 998cc engine, with only 20, 000 miles from a Mini Thirty Anniversary, with invoices for rebuild. There is also a heated windscreen, stereo hi-fi system, full width walnut dash board, with extra instruments, additional carefully chosen retro-look, rear fog & reversing lamps for safety, and even a Toad alarm system for security. Comprehensive History file with all past major renovations and photographs, [in 1999 (to red), 2005 (to BRG)], plus all invoices and Mots for last 30 years (!) makes for a more than substantial documentary history and completes my rather unique offering.
Regularly cleaned and polished; stored professionally – never seen rain since my professional £5000 restoration, ordered and undertaken in 2011, producing a clean and clear waxoyled underside on all new panels including subframe. Currently has MOT until Aug 2018 with no advisories. I have driven less than DRY 750 miles during my 7 years ownership and gained many petrol station compliments! Insurance agreed value is above the asking price; to replicate it would cost several times over and reliant upon sourcing a good donor, which is not easy these days, and many hours of labour.
Overall this is a quirky and classic Mini with modern running gear and retro looks; it is very practical as an estate and road ready for the Mini 60 years Anniversary events in 2019! A really unique looking and fun investment opportunity for the classic Mini enthusiast like me!
