The Appeal
The Lancia Beta Coupé carved out a formidable reputation in 1970s and 1980s motorsport, with Group 1 examples proving particularly competitive in the hands of works and privateer teams alike. The model's twin-cam engine, well-balanced chassis and relative lightness made it a natural candidate for circuit racing, and cars prepared to this specification are seldom seen on the open market today.
This particular Beta 2.0 Coupé has been prepared to Group 1 specification, with the work carried out by a specialist in classic racing car preparation. Having just been released from the workshop, the car has not yet turned a wheel in competition since its build. It wears a white respray beneath a vinyl wrap replicating the iconic Martini Racing livery of the period, and sits on new semi-slick tyres. The vendor informs us that very few examples in comparable condition are currently available. With a single registered keeper from new, this Lancia Beta ‘Competizione’ is well placed for anyone seeking a freshly prepared entry into historic motorsport.
