1978 Daimler Double-Six V12 Coupé
This V12 Double-Six is a superb example from collector custodianship. Sold with an exceptional history file, the original order form shows the car was ordered in Regent Red with Cinnamon leather interior from Stratstone, 290 Willesden Lane, London.
As the original ‘British Leyland Passport to Service’ shows, the car was sold on 16. 06. 1978 with the first service at 1, 215 miles carried out by Stratstone shortly after on 29. 06. 1978, with proceeding stamps in this original booklet at the recommended (and very regular) service intervals by Stratstone right up to 1983.
From here the car continued to received diligent servicing and maintenance, with stacks of invoices. Most notably, the car had extensive metalwork and paintwork carried out in 2005, a full engine rebuild with new heads and new carpets fitted in 2018 (documented with photos).
The car has covered only 78, 386 miles since new and as a result of its caring owners presents excellently today with deep paint, crisp lines and the oh-so-retro vinyl top in fantastic condition. The car was also chosen to be displayed at the 2018 Goodwood Road and Racing Club Open Day.
With a thoroughly documented history in several files which include original order form, service booklet, Leyland Supercover membership card, correspondence with the Jaguar factory as well as extensive invoices from restoration and servicing works, this Double-Six is a cherished example of one of Britiain’s finest coupés ever produced.
