Beschreibung
This car, chassis no. DB6/ 34787/ R, left the Newport Pagnell factory in August 1968 in its current colour scheme of Olive with beige Connolly leather. Factory fitted extras include power steering, chrome wire wheels, heated rear screen, three ear spinners, two seat belts , power aerial, overriders and "GB" digits. It was supplied to dealers D H Bloomer of Grimsby and was first registered to E A Dring Esq. from Boston Lincs, with factory records showing it returning on several occasions until 1971. It was taxed under a private registration plate - TRP 80 in 1975 and didn't surface again until in the ownership of Mr Jim Robson of Robson Conveyors, Sheffield in September 1986.
Unfortunately for Mr Robson, the plate had lapsed with the DVLA system changes at the time, and the car had to be re registered. Mr Robson used the little for many years until he embarked on a programme of recommissioning between 1994 and 1996 for which he employed the services of Aston Service Dorset for parts and more local specialist Derek Watson for the mechanical and bodywork. In 1998 he sold the car to Mr John Able of Shepshed , Loughborough. John Able owned the car until 2020 and during his 20 year plus ownership, initially entrusted the care to renowned marque specialists D J Smail Ltd of Olney in Bucks.
The car was maintained to a very high standard by D J Smail Ltd up until 1999 when Aston Engineering of Derby took over.
In 2020 the car was purchased by the current vendor who immediately carried out a programme of improvements bringing the car up to the superb condition it is in today. The car is in excellent condition, despite never had a full body of restoration. As a result it drives extremely well. Having driven numerous DB 6 models, fully restored cars never drive as well as original factory produced cars.
The paint work is first class and the interior cabin shows that lovely patina of a late sixties classic.
A Webasto sunroof is fitted to give that hint of open air motoring!
The engine and gearbox were removed in 2020, the engine bay fully painted, carbs rebuilt and stainless fittings used.
Supplied with an extensive history file and accompanying bills and invoices.
