Descripción
This Triumph, Special bodied, car is a "plan and pattern" (not a kit car). A car built from a set of plans and designed by John Cowperthwaite.
Most importantly this vehicle is fully correctly registered as a JC Midge on the V5.
It is based on a 1967 Triumph Herald 1200 chassis, engine and gearbox.
It is designed to be a replica of a 1930s MG Midget and is finished in Vauxhall Flame Red.
It has no heater and no soft top (although a good frame is available with the car)
It is tax exempt, and I believe it is ULEZ exempt, whether it needs an MoT is debatable but, since an MoT is the cheapest independent safety check you can get, I get it MoT'd every year anyway.
Currently has a new MoT expiring 01st June 2025.
It runs fine on unleaded petrol and is very economical.
It is also running on waterless coolant.
The engine is in very good condition. Recently serviced with new oil, filter, Accuspark electronic ignition, HT Leads, rotor arm and distributor cap.
Also recent starter motor and dynamo.
The recorded mileage is 6295, so I think we can safely ignore that as not being accurate.
It is always kept garaged.
There is a huge file of history that comes with the car including some plans.
It is quite snug in the cockpit, and you will have to be quite svelte in order to drive it. I am 5' 10" and under 12 stone and I had to modify bits in order for me to fit. Even then I need to wear my 'narrow' shoes!
For this reason you are strongly advised to come and view and to sit in it.
