This stunning little fifties barchetta is a limited edition sports-racers using Fiat components intended for competition in the popular 1100cc class created by Autotecnica del Lario (ATL).
It has a lightweight-aluminum alloy body and a tubular steel frame/ chassis.
The car’s bodywork has been crafted by coachbuilder Giorgio Greppi in Colico on Lake Como. The Greppi brothers went on the build a number of aluminium cars including nine examples of the legendary Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale using the Superleggera construction design. Greppi cars are now collected as important cars in their own right.
Engine is the Fiat 1100/ 103 (66 cu in) overhead valve four-cylinder with Weber 32 twin carbs and rare Testadoro cylinder head.
Brown trimming in good condition. Green painting with patina, plain wheels with Fiat period hub caps.
The current owner undertook a comprehensive restoration of the vehicle which comprised the refurbishment of the Dubonnet front suspension and brakes, the fitting of new oil tank, electrical components and wiring.
The original “Carta di Circolazione” of the car mentions a Fiat Mille Cento, chassis 1520040, first registration 1956, “omologazione barchetta”. The “Carta di Circolazione” of the province of Cremona is dated 28. 10. 1966, with plate CR 89137. This suggest the car has been re-bodied as a barchetta in 1966
