Description
JG Classic and Performance is proud to present Teodorra our 1950 Fiat 500C "Topolino" finished in maroon and black two tone over brown leather interior with 98796 kms or 61389 miles showing on the clock. Released in 1936 the Topolino, "little mouse" in Italian was the pathway to the mass motorisation of Italy. Production continued until 1955 and then the more well known 500 then replaced the Topolino. Powered by a 569cc 4 cylinder engine with 4 forward gears the Topolino was quite modern for its time in 1936 pre war Italy achieving a massive 53mph with its 16bhp! Our example here a 1950 variant was the later in body headlight car which featured a heater! Yes a heater how fancy. Although being a later version the beautiful Italian quirks are certainly not lacking, the beautifully engineered fold back roof, cute leather seats and chrome details are just what you'd expect from the Italians. The interior presents a lovely brown leather chair with thick brown over mats protecting the floor panels themselves. The engine sounds sweet, perky and smooth with the gearbox changing correctly even with its lack of synchromesh's! This car is certainly not a mile muncher however in small town Rome or a very British short trip to the pub she would be perfect. In other words unless your within a 10 mile radius of us here in Lincoln, yes you'll need to get it transported! No it won't drive to London, well it might but you'd arrive in 2027! The exterior presents excellent for a car of this age with the paintwork glossy and the chrome work bright. For sure there's obvious signs this car is the age it is but the doors close nicely as does the bonnet and there's no huge imperfections or problems! It's what you'd expect for an older restoration. However please remember this car is 76, yes 76 years old! The fit, finish and quality standards are not what you expect from the typical 70s or 80s classic cars. This car is no concourse winner but it's by far better than 1950 Italy produced it! So if you fancy a super cute, head turning, pub run classic car here she is. Bonnie, bright and certainly full of character and looking forward to many more sunny drives with the top down. Viewing by appointment only.
